The summer transfer window has officially opened and now that the World Cup has come and gone, clubs are working away on major deals. For most clubs, planning will already be complete and they will have identified which players they want to sign, and which players they want to sell.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals this summer. The rumour mill is still gathering pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories – you can access the full rumour mill below.
Today’s biggest transfer stories
Vinicius Junior is expected to remain at Real Madrid and his commit his future to the Spanish giants by penning a new contract. The Brazilian’s deal expires next summer, which has led to speculation over a move to Arsenal but he wants to stay at Madrid.
Bradley Barcola has agreed personal terms with Liverpool, according to L’Equipe. The 23-year-old is expected to leave PSG this summer but their significant asking price, believed to be in excess of €150m, could prove prohibitive.
Former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is training with Crystal Palace with a view of joining the Eagles. The 27-year-old departed Ajax in the summer and he’s eyeing a return to the Premier League.
