Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey Continue Tussle Atop U.K., Ireland Box Office

Sony's superhero tentpole “Spider-Man: Brand New Day†dominated the U.K. and Ireland box office for a third consecutive weekend, adding £6.1 million ($8.3 million), elevating its running total to $106.5 million after 20 days of release.

Universal's epic “The Odyssey†held onto second place in its fifth frame. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the wide release collected $5 million, driving its cume to $93.4 million.

Warner Bros.' “The End of Oak Street,†starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, arrived in third place with an opening weekend of $2.8 million. Trafalgar Releasing claimed fourth spot with the wide event cinema launch of music doc “Katseye: Wild Hearts,†which banked $981,457 in its debut frame.

Paramount's “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie†moved to fifth position in its second weekend, adding £$940,306 for a cumulative total of $4.3 million. Disney took sixth place with “Toy Story 5,†which added £$714,080 in its ninth frame to lift its running total to $74.7 million.

Universal's “Minions & Monsters†followed in seventh position in its seventh week, generating $546,233 to push its cume to $23.2 million. A24 secured eighth place with the debut of Matt Johnson's Anthony Bourdain film “Tony,†starring Dominic Sessa and Antonio Banderas, taking $544,524.

Disney's live-action “Moana†took ninth spot in its sixth week of release, collecting $441,419 to raise its running total to $17.2 million. TGS Cinemas Limited rounded out the top 10 with the launch of Indian drama “Vishwanath & Sons,†which generated an opening frame of $378,751.

Looking ahead to the upcoming theatrical frame, rollouts began with Source Entertainment releasing Chris Atkins' music documentary “James: Getting Away with It†across more than 100 locations.

Wide commercial openings across 300+ locations include horror sequel “Insidious: Out of the Further,†distributed by Sony, Studiocanal's Jason Statham vehicle “Mutiny,†and Black Bear's comedy “Spa Weekend.â€

Debuts also include Altitude's long-awaited “Coyote vs. Acme,†Mubi's “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma,†Icon's “& Sons,†Universal's “Stop! That! Train!,†and Vue Lumiere's “David.â€

Repertory screenings feature Park Circus re-releasing the 30th anniversary restoration of Danny Boyle's “Trainspotting†alongside Aardman's animated comedy “Early Man.†Anime Ltd is re-releasing a restored version of Miyazaki Hayao's 1989 masterpiece “Kiki's Delivery Service.â€
