Rob Reiner remains a titan of television.

Less than a year after the legendary filmmaker and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were killed at their Brentwood, Calif., home on Dec. 14, Rob won the award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series at the Sept. 6 Creative Arts Emmy Awards for his role as restaurant consultant Albert Schurr on season four of The Bear.

The late actor beat out fellow nominees Connor Storrie (Saturday Night Live), Hamish Linklater (Widow's Bay), Christopher McDonald (Hacks), Michael J. Fox (Shrinking) and Brett Goldstein (Shrinking). And the win felt especially poignant for all those gathered at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. (See all the winners here.)

Accepting the award on Rob's behalf was presenter Wendi McLendon-Covey, who told the audience, “We all wish he was here,†as they gave him a standing ovation.

The win marked Rob’s first since 1978 when he picked up the award for Outstanding Continuing Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on All in the Family, and comes nine months after prosecutors say he and his wife Michele were stabbed to death at home by their son Nick Reiner, who has pleaded not guilty to murder.
