CBS Sports announces Brian Kelly as college football analyst for 2026 season

Brian Kelly is officially bound for the booth and the studio.

On Monday, CBS Sports announced that the former LSU and Notre Dame head coach will join the network as both an analyst for select college football games this fall and a voice on CBS Sports Network's Tuesday show “Inside College Football.â€

Kelly, 64, will make his booth debut on the Week 0 game between Jacksonville State and North Dakota State on Saturday, Aug. 29 on CBS Sports Network in Fargo, N.D. He is currently scheduled to be on the call for two games involving teams in the new-look Pac-12 Conference: Texas Tech at Oregon State in Week 2 and BYU at Colorado State the following week. Both games will be broadcast on CBS.

Kelly, who was fired last October by LSU after compiling a 34-14 record during his three-plus years in charge in Baton Rouge, served as a studio analyst for CBS Sports Network's NFL Draft coverage this spring.

CBS Sports also announced the addition of former Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson as an analyst. Pederson, who led the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory following the 2017 season and most recently coached the Jacksonville Jaguars, will be in the booth for 10 games on CBS Sports Network this fall.
