Martin O’Neill has cast doubt over his Celtic future, saying it might be time “to wrap it up” after back-to-back Old Firm defeats.
O’Neill returned to Celtic last season as their interim boss on two occasions, leading the team to an unlikely double, including the Scottish Premiership title with a dramatic 3-1 win over Hearts on the final day.
He was then made permanent manager back in June, signing a one-year deal with the option for a further year.
However, while sit top of the league table with 18 points for the international break, they suffered two defeats to bitter rivals Rangers in the space of eight days.
Celtic were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup in the quarter-final after a 3-0 loss to Derek McInnes’Â side before a 1-0 defeat at Celtic Park in the top-flight.
They also lost 3-1 to Ferencvaros to kick off their Europa League campaign between those two results.
And after their damaging week, O’Neill said he will be debating his future during the international break.
“I genuinely will reflect and see,” he said. “It’s a matter of whether I can help the team.
“The manager is supposed to be able to do that. I will look at that this week.

“I think every single time something crops up, and things don’t go so well, age plays a part. And, do you know what, they might be right. I’ll be 110 in two years’ time, so it might be time to wrap it up.
“I will reflect on the games and speak to the board. You never know, they may well want to speak to me. I’ll try to get a couple of days away and see how it goes.
“The game against Hearts was probably one of the great moments of my managerial time. And I’ve had some really good moments.
“While that was good, and I was delighted to get that opportunity, all the time I was still thinking about whether you can still have the energy and the desire – the things that I say to the boys every Friday – so I’ll have a look at that, and we’ll see.”
Celtic will return to action away to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on October 11.
